The Laser is a single-handed, strict one-design and Olympic class that is sailed enthusiastically all over the world by young and old, novice and expert alike. The Laser offers the unique combination of exciting sailing, simple rig, portability, and highly competitive fleets. It offers three configurations to accommodate varying conditions, sailor weight and sailor ability. Each rig only requires a different lower mast section and sail. A great boat you can learn in as a kid or adult, and never outgrow.
our fleet
The laser fleet at West River covers all ages and experience levels. We sail every Friday May through September give or take, depending on interest as the weather warms and gets colder. We also participate at the annual regattas, Sunday Series, and regattas elsewhere on the bay. We are proud to be a boat in our shared boat program and also pride ourselves in getting the junior laser sailors involved in our fleet. This constant influx of new sailors keeps our racing interesting and fun.

The laser fleet uses a google group like many other fleets at West River, it's easy for anybody to join! This is how the fleet captain, the fleet, and others at WRSC communicate specifically to each other! All important fleet specific information is sent through this group.
